The valley

The idea of the valley comes from the Yosemite mountains,with high rocky mountain, and beautifully curved waves of forest. The terrain is designed based on geographical principles, so that the terrain looks nature.

The meeting place is set on an open space between mountain and forest, face the bridge and the lake below it. It has great view, and a nice tree is there to reduce sunlight during summer.

Oprah's office: The Unbending Will

The design idea comes from a diamond(the center main block) breaking through rocks(the side wings), which refers to the tough fights against the fate in Oprah's early life, a representation of her spiritual leadership.

The bridge: The Meteor Shower

As the name suggests, the idea of the design comes from meteor shower, the glowing bars attached on the main frame are the major light source of the bridge during night time.The special effect about this design is, while all bars are fixed, when the beholder move on the bridge, it feels like the bars are actually moving, just like meteors.

Lady Gaga's office: The Crystal Crown

The design was originally a huge piece of glowing crystal, but it can also be read in many other ways. the top view looks like a maple leaf, and the side view looks more like a crystal phoenix. The color used in the design has strong contrast, which fits in Lady Gaga's style in my point of view.

EXP2 final crysis model: Puzzle Heart

Welcome to EXP2 final work by Max!

The name Puzzle Heart, comes from its over all plan view, with a key shaped light well at the top, making the whole building a big " lock", which it self is a puzzle.

The name also refers to the theme of the building, trying to represent the structure of man's personality, or in another word, the heart.



The amazing sun rise, created by carefully edited terrains. The mountains and harbors are both hand crafted.



Refer to hypothesis 3 from Freud, the top 2 color lighted rooms represent the hidden part of our personalities: ID and super-ego. Their colors goes through openings, and blend together in the bottom room, represent ego.



Refer to hypotheses 5 from Newton. The top 3 blocks will not stand without the support from any of the other blocks. This is to present that, no great achievement can be made without work from others.



The 2 original components (No.3 and No.5 from exonometrics) are remixed together, by turning 2 of the blocks into negative spaces, provide channels from colored light to go through and blend.



The 2 converted negative space blocks interact with existing blocks, creating a complex interior space. Different textures and colored lights are used to distinguish different negative spaces.
